The Beaufort County Library is hosting a month of free, music-related events in conjunction with the traveling Smithsonian exhibit, “New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music.”
According to a news release, this week’s events include:
FolkUs and The Hungry Monks in concert, 3 p.m. Sunday at ARTWorks, 2127 Boundary St., Beaufort.
Lunch-and-listen program, “Girls with Guitars: Women in Country Music,” with Amanda Brewer, noon Wednesday in the auditorium of building 12, Technical College of the Lowcountry, 921 Ribaut Road.
Showing of the documentary film “Awake My Soul: The Story of Sacred Harp” at both 3 and 6 p.m. Thursday at the Beaufort branch library, 311 Scott St.
Family music program “Shape Note Singing with Lowcountry Sacred Harp,” 2 p.m. Saturday at Grand Army Hall, 706 Newcastle St.
