ASU music department holds free recital Tuesday

Alabama State University’s Department of Music will hold a faculty recital and musical concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The recital will be in ASU’s Tullibody Music Building Recital Hall on North University and is free and open to the public.

Scheduled performers include faculty members Carly Johnson on trumpet, Joel Jones on piano and Katrina Phillips on clarinet.

All three have doctorates and are accomplished musicians. Johnson and Phillips have performed with a number of symphonies and ensembles, and Jones performs throughout the community and at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, where he has served as music director and keyboardist.
